Weather resistance

For architectural reasons, the technical building equipment is often located outside the building. Air handling units are often installed on roofs. WEGER devices are available in various versions suitable for outdoor installation. They are delivered from the factory in a weatherproof design with a roof made of RC5 sheet metal or aluminium and an all-round overhang (100 mm as standard, variable if required). To prevent rainwater from penetrating through the mechanical connection between the housing frame and the panels, a special plastic terminal block was developed that features co-extrusion on both sides. On the inside of the terminal block, the soft injection moulding serves as a waterproof seal to the housing panel. On the outside, the soft component on the outer edge of the terminal block protects against damage and impact. This means that a permanently mounted panel can be easily dismantled and reassembled without the need for electrical tools.
